The weekend’s football began in the Black Dragon Badges South division on Friday night with Blidworth Welfare visiting Eastwood Community.
After an unmemorable first half Josh Brentnall gave Blidworth a 54th minute lead after winning a challenge with the home keeper. The game was turned on its head however in the 67th minute as Eastwood struck twice in the space of a minute. First Greg Conn finished off a cross from a corner and seconds later Chay Betteridge got a second in spectacular fashion, launching the ball into the Blidworth net from fully 45 yards.
Pinxton lead the division on goal difference following a 2-1 defeat of Linby Colliery at Wharf Road. Linby held the lead at half time with a Kye Pilmore goal but the home side mounted a second half fightback with goals from Danny Evans and Nathan Benger securing the points.
Hucknall Town still boast a 100% record as they enjoyed a comfortable 6-0 win over Keyworth United. The home side were three goals to the good after just 13 minutes as Shaun Smith, Cayne Maxwell and Ben Jones all found the net with Joe Ashurst adding a fourth on the half hour. That was it until the last four minutes when Ashurst got his second and Kajally Danso wound up the scoring.
Aslockton & Orston came from behind to beat South Normanton 2-1 at Spa Lane. Tim Perry put the Shiners one up, but the hosts claimed the points, scoring through Josh Asuman and Pierce Hallam.
A Dave Robinson goal was enough to see Swanwick home in their home match with Hilton Harriers.

In the Black Dragon Badges North division Clay Cross Town continued their winning sequence, beating visitors Collingham 3-1. The Millers effectively wrapped up the game in the first half hour as Callum Featherstone put them ahead on 14 minutes, Ant Lynam doubled the score on the half hour and Featherstone got his second a minute later. The score stayed that way until two minutes from the end when Ryan Rushen grabbed a consolation for Collingham.
Lincoln Moorlands brushed aside the challenge of bottom side Renishaw Rangers, the match ending 9-1 in their favour. Robbie Smith scored a hat trick, Simon Mowbray added two with further goals coming from Chris Nuttall, Nathan Adams, Andy Parish and Luke Shipman. Renishaw’s goal was scored by Rafael Sebastian.
Will Tomlinson and Adam Scott both scored twice as Retford beat Welbeck Lions 4-2 at Babworth Road, Welbeck replying with goals from Josh Clayton and James Stone.
A goal deep into stoppage time rescued a point for Appleby Frodingham as they hosted Staveley MW Reserves. There were 94 minutes on the clock when Dayle Hutson scored for Frod, equalising Ryan Damms’ 35th minute header for Staveley.
Newark Town’s poor run was extended by Dronfield Town Reserves who won 3-2 at Station Road. Charles Bradwell scored twice and Tyrone O’Kane got the third with Callum Raynard and a Kyle Nicholson penalty accounting for Newark’s goals.

The League Challenge Cup sponsored by Buckingham Insurance got underway with two first round ties.
Mickleover RBL were 3-1 winners in their match against Matlock Town Reserves. Daniel Minto (2) and Dave Carr were on target for the Legion, Billy Whitehead scoring for the Gladiators. Mickleover will now face Dronfield Reserves in round two.
Holbrook St Michaels won their first league cup tie in five seasons as they overcame Phoenix 2-1. Goals from Ashley Roberts and Joe Brumby proved decisive, Adam Houghton with the Phoenix goal.

There were three matches in the Macron Store Stoke Division One. Cromford’s season has still to burst into life, they went down 8-1 at Radford. Scorers for Radford were Obinna Abuka (30, Macaulay Barber, Myles Gorey, Max Rowbotham, Sam Freeman and Matt Fowler, with Cromford profiting from an own goal.
Holbrook Sports were 4-1 winners at Linby Colliery. Holbrook’s goals came from Ben Wallace, Sam Collins, Alan Hahn and Connor Mason, Kieran Orange getting one for Linby.
Wirksworth Town and Hucknall Town produced only the second draw in the division this season, Colin Worth and Daz Smith’s strikes for Wirksworth being cancelled out by Matt Brian and Elliot Christie.
