The Evo-stik side emailed Football Secretary Kev Newton to inform him they would not be making the trip down to Nottinghamshire on Saturday 21st July..

It had been agreed some while ago that Curzon Ashton would bring both the Reserves and First Team down for a double header, but the email from their Secretary Robert Hurst stated, "It is with my deepest regret that I have to inform you that we are unable to fulfil our Pre-Season Games on Saturday 21st July 2012 at your ground.

The reasons are many, which I am unable to explain.

Please accept my deepest apologies for this notification at short notice".

Kev Newton expressed, "It's disappointing as this was seen as a significant day in our preparations for the new season, but we have spoke to a club this evening (Friday 13th July) and they will give us their decision tomorrow". The Secretary also stated that we are looking at only playing one game at Carnarvon Street now due the weather over the running of the tournament causing more wear and tear than was expecte, so we will be looking to find a possible away fixture for our Reserves.

News of a replacement fixture/s will be published once confirmed.
