AFC Emley and Dronfield Town are through to the Second Round of the Toolstation NCEL League Cup with fine home victories in midweek.

Emley were 3-2 winners over Teversal on Tuesday after they raced into a two goal lead with strikes from Adam Todd and Doran Jordan in the opening thirteen minutes.

Callum Pursglove pulled one back for the visitors with a quarter-of-an-hour remaining but Brighton Mugadza doubled the hosts' advantage again before Colin Cockerill grabbed a second for Teversal.

Two goals from Steve Whitehead each side of half time, one from the penalty spot, saw Dronfield cause a surprise by beating Division One leaders Shaw Lane Aquaforce, 2-1, after Duane Grace had given the away side a 23rd minute lead.

Three County Cups got underway with Grimsby Borough, Winterton Rangers and Bottesford Town all progressing at the expense of fellow NCEL sides in the Lincolnshire Senior Trophy.

Andrew Taylor's second goal of the evening was the winner for Borough as they beat hosts Lincoln Moorlands Railway, 3-2, whilst a Tom Finnigan brace helped Winterton Rangers to win 4-1 at Appleby Frodingham.

Thomas Spall, Danny Boulton and Craig Bridge netted for Bottesford in their 3-0 home victory over Barton Town Old Boys.

Basford United were comfortable winners in the First Round of the Notts Senior Cup, beating Ruddington Village, 6-1, at the Mill Street Playing Field.

Levi Maturine and Marcus Edwards struck hat-tricks in the West Riding County Cup to see their teams comfortably through.

Maturine's Albion Sports won 5-0 at Thackley and Edwards' Eccleshill United beat visitors Armthorpe Welfare, 4-0.

Knaresborough Town were 2-0 winners at Pontefract Collieries and Liversedge also went through, beating North West Counties League side Silsden, 2-1.

And, in the one league match in midweek, Worsbrough Bridge Athletic are up to fourth in Division One as goals from Adam Podmore earned them a 2-1 win at Shirebrook Town after Aaron Moxam had given the hosts a twelfth minute lead.
