A seventh straight win for Shaw Lane Aquaforce on Friday saw them return to the top of the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division...

...for the first time since the start of September and make them favourites to lift the trophy.

They have gone ahead of Worksop Town whose home defeat to Barton Town Old Boys means the Tigers are a point behind the Ducks who have two games in hand.

Shaw Lane struck early at home to Maltby Main through a Chris White opener in the tenth minute but took control in the second half as Danny Frost added a second and a Tom Coker own goal put them out of sight before Lee Morris and Joe Thornton completed the scoring in a 5-0 victory.

That left Worksop knowing they needed a win on Saturday to move back to the summit but Danny Chambers struck in each half as the visitors took all three points with a 2-0 victory that sees them climb into fifth spot.

Josh Greening scored the only goal of the game as Tadcaster Albion kept their title challenge going by beating hosts Albion Sports and the Brewers are five points off the top in third having played one game more.

They went above Cleethorpes Town who lost 3-1 at home to Handsworth Parramore with the away side going two goals up before Brody Robertson struck for the hosts in the last ten minutes to give them hope of a comeback but Danny Buttle added the visitors' third to make sure of the victory that sees them up into seventh.

At the other end of the table, Retford United are still not mathematically certain to finish in the bottom two as they beat basement side Glasshoughton Welfare who have already been confirmed as ending in a relegation spot with Adam Lee getting a couple for the Badgers in a 4-1 triumph.

They are nine points away from safety with three games remaining but will have to win all their remaining matches by massive margins to have any chance of getting away from the drop zone.

Elsewhere, there were away wins for Pickering Town and Thackley who beat Garforth Town, 1-0, and Parkgate, 2-0, respectively.

And, there were 1-1 draws for Armthorpe Welfare at home to Staveley Miners Welfare and for Nostell Miners Welfare at Heanor Town.

Pontefract Collieries know the Division One title chase is in their own hands as they won 1-0 at home to Knaresborough Town to move four points clear at the top of the table.

It took an 85th minute Aaron Moxam strike to separate the sides and it proved an invaluable win as their closest rivals Clipstone drew 0-0 at Eccleshill United and the spoils were also shared in the game between fourth and third as Shirebrook Town and AFC Emley played out a 1-1 draw at Langwith Road.

Max Leonard's 65th minute strike had seemingly given the visitors the victory before Kieron Watson slotted home an injury-time penalty for Shirebrook to restore parity.

Hemsworth Miners Welfare go up into fourth above Shirebrook as Jack Steers and Lee Swift scored in their 2-1 victory at Rossington Main.

They also leapfrogged Louth Town who drew 2-2 at AFC Mansfield, Danny Kilmore getting the White Wolves an 80th minute equaliser after they had let an early lead slip.

Bottom side Grimsby Borough looked set for their third straight win when a Jake Rotherham own goal and a Luke Fanthorpe strike had them 2-0 up at Winterton Rangers by the interval but the home side struck back in the second period and it finished 2-2.

The other side in the relegation zone, Lincoln Moorlands Railway, picked up three important points as they won 2-1 at Penistone Church with James Bingham netting the decider on 85 minutes.

Teversal are now the only side who can be dragged into the bottom two as they drew 2-2 at Hallam in a match where they were twice leading.

Borough are thirteen points behind them with five to play whilst Moorlands are three points adrift of the Nottinghamshire side but they have only two matches remaining.

It was not a fairy tale ending for Hall Road Rangers as they played their final game at Dene Park as a hat-trick in the last twenty minutes from Sam Baker saw visitors Bottesford Town leave with a 3-0 victory.

Selby Town won 4-0 at home to Yorkshire Amateur whilst Dronfield Town ensured they were safe from relegation with a 4-2 victory at Worsbrough Bridge Athletic.
