Away At Shirebrook Rangers

First up, a big welcome to Reece Smith and Reece Holt as they join the Tevie fold.

From the off both teams played for the win as each gave as good as they got. Josh B & James N were on the wing playing into Tyler N and Warrick H. A good many chances were created as Tevie pressed on. In midfield Ben T, Keane B & Reece S were holding strong and feeding out wide. Tevie’s back line, Blake G, Bradley G & Ben C proved to be an unclimbable wall whilst Josh B made an unmovable foundation in the net. First blood went to Tyler N as Reece S slid him a lovely ball straight through the defence for him to convert into the game’s first goal. Shirebrook 0 Tevie 1. Four minutes later the Tyler N and Reece S duo struck again as Tyler N finds the net for his second goal. Shirebook 0 Tevie 2. The whistle is blown to call halftime – unfortunately it turns out to be five minutes early, so the teams are called back on to play for the remaining minutes?? Finally the first half ends, I think... Shirebrook 0 Tevie 2.

The second half begins as Shirebrook dig deep to reduce the deficit. Unfortunately for them they allow Tyler N to steal the ball and find James N on the right. James N looks up and sees the keeper just of his line and lets rip. The ball sails straight over the keeper for Tevie’s third, great strike from James. Shirebrook 0 Tevie 3. Just minutes later James N is brought down in the box for a definite penalty! The ref doesn’t think so and gives the foul the other way???? There’s a change of personnel at the back as Rhys H and Mckai W battle hard to keep the score in Tevie’s favour. James W picks the ball up in midfield and starts a run that brings Shirebrook’s keeper off his line. There’s a miskick that goes straight to Reece S who takes a sneaky shot on goal, as the ball makes its way (rather slowly) Shirebrook’s keeper decides to give it a helping hand... nice! Shirebrook 0 Tevie 4. Shirebrook win a corner ball and send it into the box. Josh E steps out to save it but it’s a bouncing spinner that evades capture and finds our net. Shirebrook 1 Tevie 4. Alex S and Zakarie S are scrambling up and down the pitch to provide great support at both ends. Tevie win a corner and super sub Bradley G is there to strike again as he calmly slots home number five. Shirebrook 1 Tevie 5. Shirebrook didn’t give in and battled on but Tevie held strong for a well-deserved win.
