Teversal FC's final pre-season game of the season saw Parkgate FC return to Carnarvon Street for the latest meeting between the two sides. For the past three years the two teams have met with the away side taking the honours each time putting Teversal 2-1 ahead in the series. If things were to go to plan then Parkgate would draw level in the encounters.
Eighty-one people watched the game and saw Teversal take the lead through recent signing Kurtis Bamford on twenty-two minutes.
Almost immediately Parkgate threw everything at Teversal forcing the home side to put themselves in the firing line for a series of shots with a triple stop by keeper, post and keeper again keeping the goal intact.
Half time: Teversal FC 1-0 Parkgate FC.
On fifty-seven minutes Parkgate were back in the game with a low strike by Alex Lill that went in off the foot of the post.
Five minutes later the Tevie Boys were back in front. Josh Radford challenged, and beat, the keeper to the loose ball, and as it trickled towards the goal line Kurtis Bamford, whilst under pressure from a defender, slid in to make sure the ball made it over the line.
NOTE: Tuesday night's trip to Ellistown and Ibstock has been postponed, but the Reserves are at home to Matlock Town's Advance Development Squad (KO at 7.45pm)
