Teversal put back to back wins for the first time this season which was reward for an impressive team performance. The host started of brightly which saw the play sustained in the Rossington half but without an early reward. The early pressure lead to a scramble in the Rossington penalty area seeing the Tevie Boys going close before Dye dived on the ball to quell the danger.
After the early pressure from Teversal the game settled into an even contest with Rossington coming into the game. But both sides offered a solid defensive performance with attempts at goal becoming a premium asset of the game.
There was corners and goalmouth scrambles but no real clear cut effort for either side. That was until the 41st minute. A goal that told your what is good about Craig Mitchell, a patient build up with Bacon playing the telling pass that allowed Mitchell to turn Dorgan to then hold of the physical challenge of the Rosso defender before calmly and clinically finishing past the advancing Dye to give the host a merited lead. A minute later a similar move nearly had the same outcome but this time Dye was quick off his line to make a smart save to deny Mitchell a second.
Teversal came out in the second like they did the first but got an early reward when the persistence of halt time substitute James McCann robbed Wood of the ball and with Dye out of position hoping to receive a back pass from his full back, McCann from near the corner flag floated the ball over the Keeper and in at the far post after only a minute of the restart to give the Tevie Boys the cushion of 2-0 lead.
On 64 minutes that lead was extended to 3-0 when Tom Laister received Sargents near post free kick to turn an finish despite Dyes desperate full length dive to get an hand to the ball but not enough to keep it out.
The home side looked like the would go and extend their lead when Fletcher latched onto to Mitchell flick on and opted to lift over the advance keeper with effort dropping just wide. That was followed by Dean Short feeding Mitchell who like his strike partner lifted effort over Dye but the Rossington Keeper was equal to the effort and superbly stretched backward to save.
Rossington was reduced to 10 men when Dorgan received a straight red for kicking out at Mitchell. That was prior to Mitchell holding off Doyle to find Fletcher who failed to hit target with an effort the striker had to stretch to make into an opportunity.
With the game moving a comfortable win McCann clever chipped pass found Fletcher who drove effort past the Rossington Keeper but also marginally wide.
In added on time the Tevie Boys will be upset at conceding what was a well worked goal by the visitors with Jason Stokes powering home from 16 yards out with the assistance of the underside of the bar.
