Teversal started the game with a new formation as they strive to find the right formula. Only two changes in personnel from Saturday's game that being the re signing of Connor Bower who slotted into a new look back three alongside Joe Geeson who returned from injury.
Rainworth started the game well within two minutes Teversal half cleared a corner for Fisher to shoot wide. The tactic of playing early to White was proving troublesome to Teversal as they applied good early pressure. Teversal were forced into an early change in the 13th minute youngster Ryley Shorthose taking a knock to be replaced by James Summers. Two minutes later Rainworth opened the scoring when a blocked corner squirted across the field to find Kane Hempsall who wasn't closed down quickly enough and his measured shot from 25 yards found the bottom corner for 0-1 Rainworth.
Teversal looked a little overawed and didn't help themselves by panicking and giving the ball away too easily. When opportunities arose they didn't take advantage as in the 20th minute Tom Batterham earned a free-kick wide right Jamie Hudson delivered a lovely ball in but nobody attacking the ball. Rainworth went into a deserved 0-2 lead in the 22nd minute after Teversal lost the ball too easily it was quickly played down the right the cross came over and Julian Topliss headed home at the far post unmarked.
Teversal earned a free-kick in the 27th minute from distance Tom Batterham stepped up and flashed a powerful drive just wide of the upright. Teversal were under pressure and only desperate defending kept the score the same but where lucky in the 42nd minute when White had an opportunity which just flicked off the cross bar.
Half Time Teversal 0-2 Rainworth MW
Having had a frank discussion at half time Teversal came out in a determined mood and started well but within three minutes were 0-3 down as poor defending from a corner allowed Kyle Hempsall a free header at the far post. A change made at half time saw Hudson move further forward and George Simpson drop into midfield and this started to get Teversal more possession as they had there best spell of the game. Tom Widdowson had a dipping effort in the 51st minute which Squires couldn't hold but nobody there to convert the rebound.
More good Teversal play in the 59th minute when an interchange between Hudson and Batterham played in Widdowson but the forwards neat finish was adjudged offside. Charlie Smith picked up a yellow in the 61st minute for a lunging challenge Herbert getting one for Rainworth for the reaction afterwards. Teversal made two quick changes Josh Brentnall on for Tom Widdowson and Ben Agbakosi for Tom Batterham. Teversal pulled a goal back in the 74th minute as Agbakosi pounced on a Hudson flick on to make the score 1-3. Teversal's thoughts of a comeback were dashed in the 80th minute when Rainworth substitute Brooks ran onto a long punt from Squires which the Tevie defence failed to deal with, Brooks finishing neatly past Pryce for 1-4.
Final Score Teversal 1-4 Rainworth MW
Overall Rainworth well worth the win but Teversal were much better second half and at least gave Rainworth something to think about.
