Teversal had to again make changes to their squad due to availability and again had another debutant in the mix with Nathan Flint.
On a very wet but playable surface Teversal got off to a decent start and for once didn’t concede within the first 10 minutes of the game. Indeed Teversal more than matched a young Worsbrough team and probably had the better of the opening minutes although neither team created any clear cut chances. For once Teversal took the lead in the 18th minute as Cam Pinnick picked up a pass just outside the 18 yard box with just a defender to beat, in his normal manner he twisted and turned the last man who could only bundle him over in the box as he lost his footing, Pinnick took the resultant penalty scoring straight down the middle as the keeper dived to his left for 0-1 Teversal.
Worsbrough’s bench got a little more vocal as they urged their team back into the game and they had their first shot just wide in the 22nd minute, Josh Brown with the shot from a knock down. Worsbrough had definitely upped the intensity and they got the equaliser in the 28th minute, from a corner which was partly cleared the ball dropped to Callum Watson just inside the penalty area and he smashed the ball through bodies for 1-1. Teversal had a game plan but Worsbrough knocked them off it and six minutes later a crossfield ball from left to right caught Ryan Hancock out, Harley Holt carried the ball forward before squaring for Joshua Brown to tap home and 2-1 Worsbrough. Teversal had Joe Parker to thank in the 38th minute as Holt beat Connor Bower before unleashing a shot on the angle that Parker saved well. However three minutes later Worsbrough burst forward again and Parker was left stranded one on one, he put a leg out and brought the Bridge Forward down for a stonewall penalty. Parker got redemption as he brilliantly saved the penalty down to his right but Tevie failed to clear the ball and Alexander Hutchinson followed up to make it 3-1 Worsbrough. Teversal tried to respond and Ben Agbakosi had a great chance to pull one back just before half time but when well placed his shot was saved by Ross Pritchard.
Half Time Worsbrough Bridge 3-1 Teversal
Teversal started the second half in the same manner as the first as they got back to their game plan, again possession was fairly even. Elliott Cauldwell picked up his 10th booking this season for a late tackle in the 58th minute. Again much like the first half early chances were hard to come by as both teams battled for possession as the pitch proved difficult to play any controlled football. Teversal replaced the injured Pinnick with Jack Kirk in the 60th minute followed by Cauldwell with debutant Flint in the 72nd minute. With Teversal still well in the game Worsbrough virtually put it to bed in the 73rd minute as a long free kick in from the right was bundled in by Conor Glavin under pressure from the Tevie defence to make the score 4-1 Worsbrough.
Teversal to their credit didn’t fold and Flint had a fantastic shot from 35 yards tipped just past the post by Pritchard. Tevie made their last change in the 79th minute as Brad Hall replaced Jak Lightly. Teversal were trying hard to pull something back, Hancock shot high and wide after good play by Agbakosi and Flint had another decent effort this time with his left foot which went just over the bar. With time running out Tevie did get a consolation goal when Pritchard rushed out of his area totally missed the ball, Agbakosi carried it down the left before squaring to Kirk who finished well for 4-2.
Not a great deal between the teams on the day but again the clinical finishing of Worsbrough gave them the three points and the search for Teversal’s second win of the season continues with only seven games left
