SELSTON made it six out of six to remain in third position in the table on goal difference after two odd-goal-of-three wins in the week. They left it late with their midweek win, Sean Gregory scoring in the last minute of normal time to secure the points. After a goal less first half Klarke Greenham broke the deadlock on 55 minutes but visitors NEWARK FLOWSERVE, who played without the services of red carded Solomon Miller from the 22nd minute, levelled through Dan Meadows penalty on 78. The 100% record was retained on Saturday after coming from behind to win 2-1 at HEANOR TOWN where Jamie Sleigh had put the Lions in front just five minutes in. Ben Moore levelled before the break and Scott Taylor rewarded them with the three points twelve minutes from the end in front of the day’s best crowd of 147.
Heading Selston in second spot are SHERWOOD COLLIERY who also have an unblemished record from six games. Free scoring Colliery made the short trip to RAINWORTH MINERS WELFARE winning 4-0 with all the goals coming before the break. Liam Theakstone was responsible for two with Lewis Weaver and Gareth Curtis notching the others.
Still heading the table though at GRAHAM STREET PRIMS who are another team scoring for fun these days. Bradley Scard heads their scoring charts and it took him only three minutes to increase his tally, adding another in the second half as the home side ran up a four goal lead against KIMBERLEY MINERS WELFARE. Kevin Morrow and Bhopinder Aietan with the other two goals. Sean Green got a stoppage time consolation for Kimberley.
It has been a mixed week for CLIPSTONE who lost 5-1 at home to RADFORD in midweek. Conner Hardy, Ryan Smith with two, Conor Moore and a Simon Hore penalty cancelled out Julian Topliss’s 14th minute leveller for Clipstone. Topliss was on the mark again on Saturday though and his 42nd minute strike was enough to give his side all three points on their visit to INGLES. Meanwhile, Radford made it six points in the week as they made the journey to BARROW TOWN and came back from two goals down to win 4-2 thanks to goals from Ryan Smith and Simon Hore who both scored their second goals of the week, and Jake Morris and Ben Clark. Sam Beaver on 13 minutes and Dan Sheahan had put Barrow two up at the break.
Like Radford, it has been a good week for BELPER UNITED who began in midweek by making progress in the FA Vase replay against CLIFTON ALL WHITES with second half goals from Ben Gowing (2) and James Rushby. And on Saturday, whilst neighbours and landlords Belper Town were making their exit from the FA Cup at Romulus, United continued their fine form with a 4-0 win over basement club WEST BRIDGFORD. James Rushby and Ben Gowing were once again on target, both in the first half, with Sam Vickers, returning after injury, scoring twice in the second period.
Midweek saw BORROWASH VICTORIA extend their poor start to the season with a sixth defeat and still without a goal as visiting RAINWORTH MINERS WELFARE walked away with the points through a Blessing Adeleye penalty and an Antonio Wadderburn own goal. The Vics will say it never rains but it pours. All that started to change on Saturday when they won their first game and scored their first goals in the bottom-of-the-table clash at ARNOLD TOWN. Matt Taylor scored their first goal of the season on 16 minutes only for a Callum Gilmartin own goal on the half hour to restore parity. Taylor got the Vics winner on 65 minutes.
Substitute Tristan Comery was the toast of GEDLING MINERS WELFARE as his 88th minute goal gave them all three points against visiting ASHBY IVANHOE, and four first half goals from Joe Butler, Dave Jones, Rory Smith and Patrick Webb gave EASTWOOD COMMUNITY all three points against a CLIFTON ALL WHITES side who could only manage a Jahred Russell consolation five minutes from the end.
NEWARK FLOWSERVE got back to winning ways after Sam Agar put them ahead at TEVERSAL with a 36th minute penalty. Jamie Lloyd added a second a minute into the second half to give them full points.
