Top of the League V's Second Place Edwalton White

Following the frustration of the last few games being called off due to poor weather conditions, Teversal travelled again into Nottingham, this time to take on Edwalton Cavaliers White who now sat in 2nd place. The Tevie boys were eager to get underway not having played since their triumphant win against Pelican before Christmas. The pitch conditions were less than ideal, being cloggy underfoot but the game began and Teversal soon found their level and dominated play from the first five minutes with a good possession rate and a few early wayward shots over goal. It took until the 13th minute for the first goal to find target for Teversal, Danny Darlow opened the scoring with a lovely shot to the top of the net, served by a nice through ball from Josh Haywood. 0-1 This gave a further boost to the Tevie boys and within two minutes the second goal followed for Danny Darlow. 0-2. Play continued and the pitch was slippery heavy going for both sides, Teversal were shooting downhill this first half and needed to make the most of every opportunity as they knew shots on target from outside the area from the Cavaliers with wind assistance could easily interfere with the score line in the second half. The Cavaliers were beginning to show their frustration at not being able to get past the Tevie defence, some questionable tackles ensued but Tevie carried on regardless and with the first half dying away a foul on Luke Bacon gave a free kick to Tevie, taken by Josh Haywood who placed the ball perfectly for Danny Darlow to head home his hat trick goal. 0-3. Half Time 0-3. The second half began with a renewed vigour from the Cavaliers, they battled through the defence on a couple of occasions but the shots were wayward and did nothing to ruffle the confidence of newly signed keeper Liam Gilbourne, play was uninspiring on both sides by the middle of the second half and the pitch was possibly the main contributor in this as feet were heavy and legs were tiring. A shot on target by Callum Wilkinson was blocked by the Edwalton keeper and a corner followed. Accurately taken by Callum Wilkinson he placed the ball to the near post for Danny Darlow to head home his fourth goal. 0-4 with five minutes remaining. Neither side could improve on the score line; the final whistle gave a good winning return game for the Tevie boys, a solid performance by all and the first clean sheet of the season for Tevie. FT Score 0-4
