Tevie Trampled By Coltz

Having had last week’s game cancelled again due to the poor weather, the team were eager to get a game in and hopefully stay true to form. However Nottz Coltz had other ideas, from the onset they dominated play, Tevie seemed to be phased and uncoordinated, it wasn’t long before the Coltz capitalised and scored the opening goal. 1-0. Tevie were stunned but couldn’t do enough to stop the soon to follow second goal. Defensively Tevie were wide open and couldn’t get out of the Tevie midfield into the oppositions half, nothing was going their way, decisions were lacking and the play was too deep but surely this would turn round soon. No such luck as a third goal went in, and then a more luck than judgement scoop backwards by one of the Coltz took the Tevie goalie by surprise and dropped into the net. 4-0 at half-time. Second half started with a change to the Tevie formation, this looked more positive and they looked more confident. Communication was better and the play was being taken to the Coltz and they were struggling to keep Tevie out of their area, a real table turning start to the second half. Some shots on goal were getting through but nothing powerful enough to trouble the Coltz keeper. Tevie gained a corner, taken by Callum Wilkinson it sailed into the top left hand corner of the net 4-1. This was more like it, the play was much more structured and looked to be getting the game back on track for Tevie. A free kick was awarded and Rhys Williams stepped up to strike the ball, it hit the crossbar and Callum Wilkinson ran from the back of the line up to head it home 4-2. However the linesman somehow decided it was offside and promptly flagged, the referee was unsure and consulted but unfortunately for Tevie the goal was ruled offside and therefore disallowed. 4-1. This wasn’t received well by the lads, this was a game changing decision, however, Tevie continued to battle but it was a case of too little too late, they managed to get through the Coltz defence a few more times but couldn’t find the final ball to change the score line. FT 4-1. A sobering defeat.
