Thackley need a win at Pickering to keep up among the league leaders.

Pickering Town v Thackley.

Saturday 21st January 2017.

Thackley travel to Pickering on Saturday for what is likely to be one of their toughest games of the season. The Pikes have not been beaten in any competition since the first day of November when Hemsworth came away from Mill Lane with all three points. They have won ten of the twelve games they have played since then, and are currently in second position in the league one point ahead of the Dennyboys with three games in hand.

However, Pickering look more vulnerable at home than they do away, they have dropped only two points from twelve matches whilst on their travels, on home soil they have dropped thirteen from twelve.

Both sides found themselves without a game last weekend because of the weather, so both sides are likely to be up for this match.

The two teams have already met this season in October, when Pickering came out deservedly on top by two goals to nil. So, Thackley will be looking to avenge that defeat, in fact they really do need a victory in order to remain amongst the leading four clubs.

Both teams have good defensive records, Pickering have conceded twenty goals, Thackley twenty four, so maybe a game of few goals.
