Thackley AFC are aware of and have carefully reviewed the recent FA guidance issued following Covid-19, which allows teams to return to training subject to certain restrictions, including (1) training not to be greater than groups of six (2) players to stay 2m apart and (3) sharing of equipment to be kept to a minimum / cleaned, amongst other things.
Thackley AFC has had throughout this pandemic as its priority the health and safety of its players, managers and volunteers. After consultation with our various management teams across both our Men’s and Women’s teams, and discussions with the Committee, it has been agreed that Thackley AFC will not return to training at this time. Instead the Club continues to encourage all players to continue training individually and in line with the relevant government guidelines away from our facilities.
We appreciate that many of our players are eager to return. However, with no further information on when the next football season will start, and given the government restrictions still in place, it was agreed by all parties that there will be no return to training at this time. The Club will continue to monitor relevant government and FA guidelines, and will provide further updates as and when appropriate.
In the meantime, we hope everyone stays safe, and look forward to welcoming everyone back to Dennyfield when it is safe to do so.
