Continuing raising money for Fanconi Hope in memory of Stephen Waters

The Thatcham Tornadoes SPX Speedshot will be in action once again at our tournament weekend (18th/19th May), raising money for @fanconihope in memory of Stephen Waters. We look forward seeing you all trying to beat your previous best!

We first introduced the speedshot at our tournament in May 2013. We dared to hope it would raise £100-£200 for Fanconi Hope and we were totally stunned when you raised over £600.

To date, over 11,000 balls have been kicked on the speedshot at our May tournament raising £3,670 for Fanconi Hope alone which is amazing! Thank you all so much for your support.

It's great seeing so many players come back year after year to try and beat their previous best. Adults are very welcome to have a go too ... the all-time record stands at 78 mph set by Leroy Clarke at our Tournament in May 2017.

The appeal of the speedshot continues to surprise us and proves popular wherever our volunteers take it in the community. Thanks to your generosity, nearly £12,000 has been raised for charities and school PTAs. Every penny goes to charity, not into the club.

None of this would have been possible without the generous support and sponsorship of Newbury-based company SPXflow. Thank you so much for your support over the last six years.

Look forward to seeing you back on the speedshot this weekend and seeing lots of new PBs being set ... and hopefully a couple of records broken too!
