Its a fantastic 4 wins in a row to start the year for the U10 girls!

I couldnt have been more proud of the girls on saturday. We took part in our first ever indoor Futsal tournament. We all had to learn the rules pretty quicky, but the girls adapted fantastically. We had been working on defence in training and this seemed to pay off. We only conceded one goal in the whole tournament.

In the first game Daisy took a turn in the goal. Having only 5 players really allowed the girls to practice their passing and communication skills. They soon got to grips with the rules and their powerful shots and strong teamwork really paid off, ending their forst 14 minutes with a win.

Chloe was keeper for the second game and did a fantastic job of keeping the opposition at bay. The girls showed that they can outrun, outmanouvre and outscore their opposition yet again. The girls were buzzing after another win and were so excited going into the third game.

For the third game the girls knew that a win would secire their place in the final, but they didnt lose their nerve. Every girl gave 110% The surface was hard and painful to fall on, but Bo's sore knees didnt stop her from demonstrating her versatility on the pitch. I was impressed with Jessica's fantastic time in goal, she was nervous, but really played brilliantly.

So we won all 3 games and made it to the final, the girls were nervous, they knew that they would be up against the Thatcham Town Blues and felt that this would be a really challenging match! They were not wrong, this was definitely the most challenging match of the day, but it would seem that Futsal is our game! The girls and the coaches were extatic when we won the final and were presented with a trophy!

I could write for hours praising each girl individually, as they all amazed me in their own special ways. I think my favourite moment was the fantastic goal scored by Poppy's corner and Daisy's head!! I couldnt possibly choose a player of the match yesterday, as I was so impressed by everyone, but I promised to bring sweets to training!!
