On May 4th, the Tridents traveled to Austin, TX to attend the 2024 Gulf Coast Super Regional Championship Series. On Saturday, they played against a physical Atlanta Old White side. The same team that eliminated the Tridents in the Southern Championship Series four years ago. The pitch was not in the best condition. The clay like soil was muddy from multiple days worth of rain, slowing down the Trident's attacks and making scrums a slippery affair. Even in such conditions, the Tridents never trailed and finished the game with a comfortable score of 36-17.
Onto the Finals, where they would face a familiar foe, the NOLA RFC. It would be a repeat of last year's Gulf Coast Super Regional Final 35-30 overtime barnburner. The Tridents never trailed in the game. Their defense stopping the noticeably larger NOLA pack again and again. The final Trident score was a drop goal from Francisco Perello, insuring that a last minute try and conversion by NOLA would not be enough to affect the outcome of the match. The final score, after much added time, was 29-26. The Tridents had won their 2nd Gulf Coast Regional in a row.
