Town travelled to Scole today with hopes of getting a foot hold in the season, a tough run of games coupled with some under par performances have seen results not going our way, knowing that Scole had better results against common opponents meant the boys needed to be on their game. It was Thetford who settled first and looked relaxed as they started to look dangerous, a change of team shape meant that defensively we looked stronger and we were able to get numbers forward to support the attacks. As the half played out the boys really began to dominate and with 20 minutes played took the lead and then added two further goals very quickly. A momentary lapse of concentration allowed Scole to get one back on the stroke of half time.
The second half began slightly nervously, the next goal it seemed would be important in dictating the momentum of the game, it was Town who got that goal 10 minutes in to the half. On the hour mark a defensive mix up allowed Scole to score a second and get themselves momentarily back in to the game. The Town players at this point were not in the mood to surrender the 3 points they had worked really hard for and went on to add two further goals in the last 5 minutes to run out comprehensive 6-2 winners.
Goals: David Ferriera (2), Ewan Haynes (2), Dylan Kirk, Bobby Holmes.
A massive improvement of intensity and work rate today and the lads got the result that they thoroughly deserved, this should give them the confidence and belief to push on.
