Thirsk Falcons win the Harrogate league Intermediate Cup 2017

Thirsk Falcons played Beckwithshaw Saints Reserves at Kirk Deighton Ranger's ground in the Harrogate league's Intermediate Cup final, 22nd April 2017. This was a very hard game in which both sides defended extremely well, especially both goalkeepers. The result at full-time was nil: nil. Extra time saw no result in the first half but Liam Cook scored first for Thirsk Falcons in the second half. However, Beckwithshaw, with five minutes to go, scored from Ben Parker's shot at goal. This meant a penalty shoot-out.
Thirsk's Dave Young scored first. Beckwithshaw saw their first attempt saved by Thirsk Falcons goalkeeper Matthew Hogg. Chris Everingham scored the next, for Thirsk. Beckwithshaw got the next attempt. Nick Young fluffed the next for Thirsk. Beckwithshaw did the same for their next chance. Then Tom McDowell scored for Thirsk. Hogg saved the next and Thirsk Falcons had now won the Intermediate Trophy for 2016-2017.
