A journey over the N Yorkshire Moors gains some more points.

Thirsk had an experienced squad of 12 for the trip to Scarborough, making substitutions easier than recent weeks. The smaller squad was short in a few positions, so Joseph Shannon slotted into central midfield and Ben Harrison into central defence rather than their preferred striking roles. Thirsk looked sharp in the early exchanges with most of the possession and goal mouth pressure, but Andy Young in particular was profligate in front of goal. As half time approached, Scarborough started to find their stride, but the Thirsk defence handled the strikers comfortably. Nil nil at half time, Thirsk disappointed.
Thirsk re-shuffled their line-up at half time, with Ben and Andy switching positions, plus a reminder to move the ball earlier to open players, and to play around the Scarborough defenders. Almost immediately, a quick ball from Michael Crampton in defence direct to Will Norman on the opposition 22, was slipped past the solitary defender to Ben, who beat the keeper with a calm finish. The faster ball pace continued with Jeremy Barker and Jack Foxley enjoying more space and time than the first half and able to release the ball to Joseph controlling central midfield. Will added a second goal with Ben providing the assist and a third in a messy goal mouth scramble. Scarborough continued to attack occasionally but the Thirsk defence was in control, with Fred Hunt and Mike Rushmere keeping the wider players quiet, and Sam Ross Russell vocal and mobile on the few occasions he was needed in goal. The fourth goal was a deserved reward for Joseph before Will Norman scored his third with a reverse strike from the tightest of angles.
