The men's second team had another good win on Saturday against a strong Mirfield team.
Thirsk made a good start taking the lead early on but got caught on the break soon after to level the game. After a tough 20 minutes Thirsk scored again and settled down playing some good hockey before scoring another 2 before half time.
After half time, Mirfield came out fighting but we held are ground, keeping it tight in midfield to stop the counter attack play and managing to steal another goal with a good run by Dave Pickford. Mirfield did get 2 goals late on in the game to make the last 5 minutes interesting but we held on to a 5-3 win to stay second in the table.
