An entertaining evening of cricket

As chairman of Thorley Cricket Club I was extremely proud last night on many levels after watching our U15s grab victory in an exciting game of cricket against our visitors from Australia, Kent Street Senior High School. The visitors set a target of 150 to win after 20 overs, a special mention to Adam Cooper, 2 wickets and Josh Fox 3 wickets. Isaac Waters (49) and Ben Cowper (46) set a solid base in Thorley's reply and with 1 over to go skipper Josh Fox went in to the affray with 6 runs needed to win. A slight mix up in communication left both teams level with 1 ball to come and Charlie Castle faced the task of some how getting at least a run from the last ball which he duly did with a lovely edge to the boundary to secure a 5 wicket win for Thorley.

As well as delivering a fantastic display of our cricket the evening also demonstrated the importance of our coaching set up. Also a special thanks to all of the club members and parents who helped out with the BBQ and bar to make the evening such a special event. Everyone did our club proud and our visitors appeared to also enjoy the whole event. Once again Thorley Cricket Club, it's members and parents have displayed what a great little club we have.
