With the first case of Covid-19 diagnosed in Thornbury today we don't think we need to call off any games but suggest anyone who is unwell stay away

The government has said that new measures are going to be in place which include:
Staying at home for seven days if you have, however mild, a new continuous cough or higher temperature
Advise all those over-70s not to go on cruises
Advise against international school trips
Boris Johnson says they are only "considering the question of banning major events, including sporting fixtures" - not because of the spread of the virus, but because of the burden it puts on public services.

So there is nothing in the government guidance at the moment meaning we have to cancel the matches this weekend.

The South West Division of the RFU have said:
“It’s very difficult to put in place any contingency before we know the extent of any outbreak and we have a very limited number of weeks left in the season in which to re-arrange fixtures anyway. We are in contact with the RFU and will be guided by them, if and when, any restrictions are placed upon us.

In the meanwhile, as a League Committee, we ask you contact Public Health England when it comes to notification of a virus outbreak in a club or amongst its wider membership. You should then contact your League Secretary.

We ask that you also heed the latest government advice.”
