Today we welcomed Minchinhampton to the club for a return fixture, knowing it was going to be a tough game, having been beaten 9-4 by them when we visited them back in October.
First half we were overpowered by strong, well drilled players, who put six tries past us.
There was some brightness though, our forwards played well, and Dan Navas weaved his way through to score late in the half.
Often our boys get a bit down hearted when they're up against it, but they came out much better in the 2nd half.
Some better tackling, passing and running saw Harry score two, before Ellis and Shippy scored as well.
Try of the day in a lot of respects was the last try. Some great lead up passing saw James take the ball, fend off a couple of Minch players, before offloading to Cam to score.
Cam hasn't played for a few weeks due to injury and it was good to see him back today, with some good tackling topped off by that try.
Forwards again played well, with the opposition coach admitting that we were better in this area, though it didn't stop their backs running in five more.
FT 6-11, so we drew the 2nd half
Man of the match today was Luca, leading the forwards with some good aggressive rucking and controlling the scrums.
Mentions to William and Tom DC for some great play as well today.
That's it for the season really, Isle of Wight, here we come!!
