Thornes Wolfes are a brand new side which formed in May this year with the help of Ben Hutchinson manager of the existing Thornes U11’s pumas.

Ben managed to pursuade one of his assistant coaches Brendan Ryan to take over the new side

Brendan came up with the idea to name the team “Thornes Wolfes” in recognition of former Thornes Juniors player Matty Wolfe, who is now a first team regular for barnsley football club wearing the number 33 shirt.

Thornes Wolfes played their first game of the season on Sunday 19th September and played some excellent football.

Harvey playing in the goals, solid defending from Mason, Rhys, Joe and Fares in defence. All round dominating midfield play and attacking from Adam, Rayan, Hughie, Jamie and Niall. Kian and Seedia worked hard upfront and helped out the midfield too. We also missed peter on the day who unfortunately couldn’t make it. We’re looking forward to having him back in our team real soon.

All in all a real great performance from Thornes Wolfes in their first ever game of the season.

B. Ryan Decorators Man of the Match was Rayan Ihsan

Brendan Ryan the team manager said After the game. That he was very pleased with the teams performance in their first competitive game. He also wanted to thank The U11 Pumas Manager Ben Hutchinson and assistant Alan Corbett for letting him be part of the management team in the previous season without the experience he wouldn’t have had the confidence to go on and manage the newly formed Thornes Wolfes team.
