The game started with Thornes on the front foot and within 5 minutes Ethan scored his first of six. He collected the ball halfway in the oppositions half and dribbled through the defence before slotting the ball home.

Number 2 and 3 arrived within the next 5 minutes both opportunistic strikes.

However this did not deter Churwell and they started to dominate play in the last 10 minutes of the first half and with this domination they scored 2 goals.

Just before the break the ball fell to Alfie on the halfway line who then ran the rest of the half into the opponents area and slotted the ball home. Churwell weren't done and they scored a third just before halftime to leave the score 4-3 to Thornes.

The second half was close with both teams trying to dominate, however it was Churwell that levelled things up to make the last 15 minutes a tense affair.

It was time for Ethan to double up and again in a 5 minute burst he scored three further goals of which the pick was his free kick from wide left that he drove direct into goal. That made his overall haul of 6 goals.

The scoring was not finished and Churwell got a fifth in the last minute from a corner but Thornes were not to be denied their win and it finished 7-5.

Well done to all the boys, from Elliott offering to go in goal, to Kian and George with their good tackling to Lewis, Nathan and Alfie for their midfield battling. And finally to Sam and Will for battling hard and running their socks off.

Man of the Match was made easy and could not go to anyone else but to the six goal hero Ethan.
