Thornes travelled to unbeaten Ackworth on Remembrance Sunday in a much anticipated league game.
The first half was a even half but Ackworth managed to score two goals before the break. Thornes raised their game in the second half and Alfie Warrior pulled a goal back, latching onto a great through ball by Thomas Waldie.
Alfie had a couple of good chances after his goal, the first was over the bar after good work by Harry Charles and the second was well saved by the goalkeeper. The attack was supported well by Jack Ramswell, Tom Whiteside and Mal Thorpe.
Enzo Divirgilio, deputising for the absent Oliver Corbett in goals had a solid second half.

The Development game was also a great match to watch. Musa Waggeh had a great game at right back, starting many of our attacks. Enzo Divirgilio drove the team forward in central midfield, with Niall Ryan and Hughie Crawshaw making good runs and link up play down the wings.
Thornes conceded a first half goal but Jacob Hutchinson scored a great second half equaliser, going past two defenders before scoring with a left-footed finish.
Both sides pushed for more goals but it was Ackworth who scored two more. Tom Whiteside in the nets made a good save when Ackworth were awarded a penalty.
