Thornes hosted Grimethorpe in their penultimate Supplementary Cup group game.

Grimethorpe tested Thornes with two shots which Oliver Corbett dealt with fantastically. The first shot was a long range shot which was pushed around the post and the other shot was a low drive which Oliver did very well to hold onto.
As half time approached, Tom Whiteside laid the ball off to Alfie Warrior who got the ball under control before shifting and unleashing an unstoppable shot into the bottom hand corner.
Grimethorpe scored just before half time when a shot took a deflection, deceiving the goalkeeper and eventually the ball ended up in the goal.
In the second half, Harry Charles ran down the right and put a cross into the box. The ball wasn't dealt with and Alfie Warrior capitalized, taking control of the ball and putting the ball into an empty net.
Alfie had the chance to secure his hattrick when Thornes won a penalty following a handball but he dragged his penalty wide.
Grimethorpe pushed for a late goal but the defence of Riley Barnes and Mal Thorpe, supported by Musa Waggeh held firm.

The Development game was another tight affair. Jacob Hutchinson almost scored from two one v ones with the goalkeeper. The first one went narrowly over following a great through ball by Musa Waggeh and the second through ball ended up in the side netting.
Thornes then deservedly scored when Oliver Corbett chased down a defender, pinched the ball before running on and shooting into the low corner.
Grimethorpe upped the tempo in the second half in an end to end game. Tom Whiteside in goals did very well to keep them at bay, with Grimethorpe hitting the bar twice, but he couldn't prevent an unstoppable late goal. Enzo Divirgilio once again played very well in the middle of midfield, winning back possession and going on runs, whilst Hughie Crawshaw worked hard on the wing and put the right back under lots of pressure. Jack Ramswell drove Thornes forward on many occasions.
