A Hat-trick form Joesph Brook gave Thornes a well deserved victory against Alverthorpe. It was Alverthorpe that started the brightest and following a flowing move they were award a penalty when Kassey hand balled following a cross. Alverthorpe stepped up but hit the ball over the bar. Thornes then started to settle and got into a good rhythm and following a good move we’re awarded a corner. The ball was swung in and Jospeh Brook got up and headed the ball home.

Thornes continued to pressure and this time it was Ethan Train after some good passing that latched onto the ball  and shot but a good save from the keeper kept the ball out however Ethan was on hand from the rebound to slot the ball home.

Alverthorpe pressured the Thornes defence and just before half time they managed to half the deficit with a well taken shot that Sam Stringer got to but could not keep out.

Thornes came again and passed the ball around and it was Ethan who beat two players before squaring to Lewis Poulson who smashed the ball home.

Into the second half and Thornes continued to pressure Alverthorpe and again following a corner it was Joseph Brook who found the ball at his feet to smash the ball home.

Jospeh wasn’t finished there and with five minutes to go Lewis Poulson found himself with the ball and beat his defender and squared the ball to Joseph who made no mistake and slammed the ball into the net for a well deserved hat-trick.
