Thornes started well and controlled the game, but found it hard to open the
scoring as Wrenthorpe defended well and their keeper pulled of some great
saves.

As Thornes kept up their had work rate, the deadlock was broken with a
goal from Kieran Lawn and soon after Charles Exely fired in the second from a cross.

Thornes started the second half with a goal from Baily Hall. Then Jamaine Donnelly headed the ball home from a corner. Soon after Charles Exely netted his second of the game after Joe Eyre had put him through on goal.

A couple more subs were made to make Thornes a bit more defensive and to hold on to a clean sheet.

Thornes won the ball in midfield from a high press and won a corner, from the right, a great delivery from Jack Hudson saw Jamaine Donnelly head his second goal of the game. As the clock ran down Wrenthorpe never give up, battled until the end and they showed great spirit.

As we got into the last five minutes of the game, Ethan Reynard smashed the ball home, the Wrenthorpe keeper got a hand to it but couldn't keep the ball out.

The Wakefield Crossfit Man of the Match was awarded to Ethan Reynard for his magnificent performance in midfield.

The FutureFit Man of the Match went to Daniel Robinson for his tireless work and awareness.
