Minutes of meeting held on

Monday 22nd October 2012

At The Sun Inn Gotham

Present: Rae Shaw (Chair), Steven Pick (Secretary), Mark Sampson, Mark Priestley, Stuart Basford,

Paul Burns, Steve Weightman.

Missing/Apologises: Steve Pepper, Jordan Thelen, Peter Benson, Kieran Clark, John Richardson,

Nick Proverbs, Ray Smithson.

Matters Arising:

Still waiting for replies from GeoDyne and Lyn Sykes (Notts County Council).

Groundwork:

Steve Weightman said that the ground had been loamed and seeded. He said that next years cost will be cheaper than this year.

Also the mowers need to be serviced.

Paul Burns said that some of the wheels on the covers are punctured. Paul has spoke to a supplier about obtaining some solid pneumatic wheels – has been quoted £13.50 each wheel – Paul to speak to Ray Smithson.

Pavilion Matters:

Paul Burns is sorting out the water for the pavilion this weekend.

Stuart Basford asked Mark Priestley if he wanted the cobs that were left in the freezer so he could close down the pavilion.

Paul Burns to look in the bar area for the pole for the loft ladder.

Mark Sampson to sort out what paint we have got left over with a view to painting the pavilion floor before next season.

The guttering/barge board is to be discussed with the new committee at the next meeting.

Playing Matters:

Mark Sampson has received a couple of emails from players looking for a new team because they are moving into the area – 1 from Northants and 1 from Essex.

Mark Sampson has spoken with Richard Cartwright who is reportedly coming back next season. Also Jordan Whitehead has indicated that he is returning next season.

The 3rd XI is looking to be revived for next season playing their home matches at The Becket School on Wilford Lane at a cost of £82 per game. If the 3rd XI goes ahead, then Junior Saturday training will be swapped for Tuesday night – NEW CAPTAIN TO BE DISCUSSED.

Josh Scully has sent an email to both Universities looking for new players.

Nick Proverbs is standing down as Sunday captain. Mark Sampson has text Jon Rye and Tom Rye about the vacancy if they would be interested – no reply yet – URGENT ACTION REQUIRED.

Fixtures:

Closing down fixtures in mid September.

Treasurers Report & Funding:

Last season the club made a profit of £700 up till the end of September – bar takings and match taxes down due to poor weather. The Race Night made £930 and the Car Boot made £161.

Mark Sampson and Paul Burns are drafting Thank You letters for all Race Night sponsors.

Gift Aid - Forms and documentation to be sorted out by Paul Burns – if anybody donated money within the last two years, the Club could claim a contribution back.

Football Pontoon has not started yet – Jordan Thelen not organised.

Clubmark:

Child Protection:

Nothing to report

Youth & Kwik Cricket:

Depending whether a 3rd XI is revived for next season, the Club might just run an U12’s & U14’s. The coaches are to work out what players are available for each team next season.

Kwik Nets are starting Sunday 17th February 2013 2pm-4pm at East Leake for possibly six weeks until Sunday 6th April 2013.

The 2013 Youth Presentation is to be organised before next year’s Race Night.

AOB:

Rae – The AGM is on Monday 26th November 2012 at Thrumpton Hall 7pm for 7.30pm start.

Stuart - I have been informed that Gotham is not holding a Race Night next year. Can Paul check with Race Night man and organise a date for next year and then liaise with myself to check with the Village Hall.

Mark S – I am drafting a letter to be posted to local companies with regards to having a social evening at the Club and using the Club facilities.

Steve W – Nothing to report.
