Micky Moon, a devoted and much loved Tilbury supporter tragically and suddenly passed away in late 2012. The following was written on the week of his birthday in 2014.
"Was Micky Moon watching the Romford game on his birthday?. Last week before we played Romford, the form read Romford had won there last 8. Tilbury hadn't scored a goal in the last 7 games. So a Romford win was odds on to say the least. It was also the day of Micky Moons birthday so if you was watching Mick thanks for bringing us some luck at last and the 3 points was much appreciated. Everyone at the club still misses you mate and we always will. We had your share of drink in the club for you on your birthday and it's been really nice that his family have even turned up for some games. It was really nice to spend the night of his birthday at Tilbury Football Club with his mum and dad Irene and Jim. When you spend time with Irene and Jim it's easy to work out why Mick was such a nice person because they are the nicest people you could ever wish to meet. If your reading this Irene and Jim your always welcome at the club any game. It's still hard to believe Mick is not with us, but we are carrying on, as it's what he would want. It's been hard for some of the lads as we thought we'd have Mick with us for many more years and it's honestly just not the same without him. Guess what Mick, we held a minutes silence for you 18 months ago v Needham Market and today its the same opponents. Let's hope for the same result. I'd give anything to have him with us for just 1 more game and 100 more beers. Your always with us Mick always. RIP Mate. Love you and miss you."
