Tilbury F.C. 0 - 2 East Thurrock F.C.
Gilbey (55)
Newby (pen, 90)
In a stale first half, it took East Thurrock 12 minutes to fashion the first chance as a good move allowed the impressive Reiss Gilbey time and space to volley against the bar. As the half drew on, no sides looked like scoring until after the break. When on 55 minutes, a break from East Thurrock saw Newby's early cross evade everyone which allowed Reiss Gilbey to guide the ball into the back of the goal. Things got worse for the Dockers just four minutes later when new boy Billy Crowther saw red for a second yellow placing Tilbury down to ten men with a mountain to climb. With time running out, Tilbury pushed for the equaliser, which left them open at the back. Deep into injury time East Thurrock caught Tilbury on the break, with Cornhill combining with Newby before being brought down by Cook unintended for a penalty, which Newby cooly dispatched to finish and condem the Dockers to defeat.
