Tilbury recent revival came to a halt at Heybridge on Saturday after the home side came from behind to win.
Heybridge opened up with Matt Price having a good early chance, before Tiob Adeyeli nearly headed into his own net to give the Dockers the lead. Just before Tilbury scored, Kris Newby sent two good balls into the box to cause the home side concerns. On 30 Tilbury were awarded a corner, with Joe Burgess finding the head on Tommy Barton to head past a stationery Chris Haigh. The lead only last 4 minutes when Harrison Chatting ran through the Tilbury defence unchallenged and hit low into the net. Tilbury finished the half well and Lewis Smith was a whisker away when his left footed effort hit the outside of the post.
Heybridge were much the better side after half time and struck the bar, before Mitchell Gilbey had a chance, but could not get the final touch to the ball. On 64 Salami cleared the ball, but hit a team mate and fell to the feet of Jordan Mongoy who chipped passed the advancing Rhys Madden which proved to be the winner.
Heybridge kept Tilbury at bay and it was Mongoy who had a late chance to put the game out of sight, butt blazed over.
Tilbury moved down 2 places to 15th. The Dockers are back in action next Saturday for there final game before Christmas when they welcome local rivals Aveley 3pm kick off.
