Grays Athletic 3 Tilbury 1 (Att 311)

Grays Athletic kept up there good record against rivals Tilbury to take the points in an entertaining evening in front of a good crowd of 311.
Tilbury left Parkside disappointed without taking any of the points, in a game they dominated for long periods.

Joao Carlos saw a 3rd minute effort well saved, before he made the score sheet 5 minutes later when he rose from cross, which saw Mitchell Ware make a fine save, before parrying the ball into the net. Brian Moses went close on 12 when he hit the side netting, before captain John Easterford seeing his header go over. Just before the half hour, a ball into the box saw Brian Moses in space, only to see his effort somehow go wide when n front of goal.  Before the break Grays striker Tony Stokes saw his effort deflected over the top.

Tilbury dominated the game after the break, which Tommy Barton saw a speculative shot from 30 yards that went over the top. On 48 George Sykes found himself in the box, before being fouled and from the penalty spot, Sykes saw Sambridge make a fine save to his left. It was all Tilbury, Sykes crossing across goal, before Eljay Worrell striking a fierce effort just over. On 52 Tilbury scored the all important equaliser, when Sykes crossed the ball for Brian Moses who unleashed a power drive that flew past Sambridge into the goal.

Carlos then saw a shot well saved by Mitchell Ware. Grays made a double substitution and the game changed. On 72 the ball was not cleared by the Dockers defence and the ball fell to the dangerous Tony Stokes who fired home. The home side confirmed the points on 78 when Stokes became provider for the dangerous Carlos who hit home. It was all Grays late in the game as they had chances to increase the lead.
The result leaves Grays in 2nd spot, with Tilbury 10 places behind.
