Tilbury earned there 2nd successive league win, with a thumping victory over Histon, on a wet and windy afternoon at Chadfields.
New signings, David Knight and Ryan Mallett had a big impact on the game, as well as defender Ryan Boswell who made his 100th appearance for the club, scoring his first ever goal.
Tilbury made a single change with Knight, replacing Charlie Kendall. The Dockers got off to a flyer when Ola Ogunamide played a through ball to striker Brian Moses who slotted home past debutant Pearce. Seconds later David Knight had a good effort to increase the lead when his shot at goal, went wide. On 7 Ogunwamide played the ball into the feet of Knight who held up the ball, to then play a splitting ball through to the onrushing Ryan Boswell to chip the ball over the diving Pearce, to celebrate his 100th appearance in style. Knight was still in the action when a fierce effort went over. The visitors had a chance on 21 when a long throw in, found Rolph, but his deft header, went just wide of the post. Tilbury continued to dominate and on 27 Ogunwamide picked the ball up inside his own half and ran past 2 players and in to the bx, only to be denied by a fine Pearce save. On 34 Knight intercepted the keeper, only to see his shot deflected over.
The second half started the same as he first, as on 47 Tilbury were awarded a harshly awarded spot kit, as Spooner was felled in the box. David Knight made no mistake from the spot. On 55 Spooner was again the provider when he crossed for Knight who volleyed home past the helpless Pearce to make it 4-0. Tilbury were in dominant mood and only 3 minutes later the new signing Knight, scored his hat-trick when he received a long punt up field by the effective Ryan Mallett to control and round the keeper into an empty net.
Tilbury did seem to take there foot off the peddle as substitutions were made. On 69 a rare Histon attack saw Dan Brown go just wide. In the space of 5 minutes mid way through the half, saw substitute Calvin Ekpiteta have 2 golden chances. On 81 Moses should have scored his second when Knight set him up from 6 yards, but hit overIn the final minute the redundant Harry Aldridge made a fine save from Chivers, only to see Boswell then clear the effort off the line.
The whistle went immediately after to see Tilbury remain in 9th spot with games in hand.
