Three first half strikes saw Tilbury beat Play off side Heybridge Swifts comfortably 3-0 to move just outside the play off places.
Manager Marc Harrison went in to the fixture, making two changes. Charlie Kendall against his former side and Marlon Agyakwa returned to the side and it was the home side who flew out of the blocks.
After just 20 seconds, Tilbury found themselves in front. Ola Ogunwamide saw his shot deflected, but fell to Oli Spooner who hit home. On 16 Tilbury went close when Agyakwa went on a run, but was brought down 25 yards from goal and the resulting free kick from David Knight saw Collins tip over. The corner from Marlon Agyakwa found the head of skipper John Easterford who nodded in to an empty net for his first goal for the club. Collins again denied Knight on 19 with a good save. On 37 the Dockers put the game out of sight when a cross from the right found Charlie Kendall at the back post, he turned in the box with some good skill and played the ball through to David Knight to easily tap home. Just before the break Evans Kouassi hit just wide.
The visitors looked stronger after the break, with Martin-Sorondo seeing his his shot well saved by Harry Aldridge. and another header safely saved. Substitute Manny Osei was then played through and again Aldridge saved well. Chances were at a premium and it took until the final minute for the next clear chance, when a though ball found Knight one on one, but Collins kept him wide, before Knight hit in to the side netting.
Soon after the whistle went to see Tilbury move up to 7th in the league, just outside the play off places.
The Dockers are in action on Saturday, when they make the trip in to Suffolk to play AFC Sudbury.
