The U11 girls played up an absolute storm this Sunday leading to their first victory, 10-7, against Mellor. Mellor were well matched with Timperley and had a couple of particularly good attackers as well as the strength in depth of having lots of available subs.
This Timperley team is by and large young and inexperienced, but today’s victory shows how much they have learned over the last several matches.
Every single player is worthy of mention today - Jess and Millie made some absolutely masterful centre passes which certainly set up some goals. Iris, named player of the match, Aaliyah and Kitty all scored excellent goals. Summer and Olivia, the two youngest members, did some great marking showing skill levels well above they age. Finally Ava (who came under fire especially in the second half) proved herself yet again to be an absolute asset in goal.
The girls are getting to know each other better as a team and going forward their aim should be to keep working on their passing game.
For today, however, they should give themselves a giant pat on the back for great skill and exemplary sportsmanship shown by their smiling faces - win or lose.
