Match report - U18s Timperley vs Oxton
Three wins out of three in the league
Firstly, a quick thank you to all of the players for being patient with the lack of game time today as we shared it around 16 players - on the plus side we got lots of players involved - and another thank you to whoever put the goals away for us at the end of the game - sorry I didn't see.
As for the game, it was a solid rather than spectacular performance with the girls playing to their potential at times, but not managing to maintain the performance throughout the game. Timperley won the first quarter 5-1, the third quarter 6-1, and finished strongly in the final quarter 8-1, but we lost our way in the 2nd quarter losing 2-3.
In truth, the number of substitutions disrupted the flow and that's my fault. We also had three players making their first appearances of the season, training was cancelled this week, and attendance at training has been sparse in recent weeks - all of this will have affected the quality of the performance. You can see the difference in the players that are training and playing regularly.
Next week we are at home to Stockport (please update your availability in Pitchero). This will be quite a tough game - with Brooklands to follow straight away in the New Year - so we need to keep up training as these games will be critical to the league season.
