From the Boardroom 4 of 12

4. Chairman’s Notes 30.03.19.

Hello and thank you for coming to Longmead Stadium for this afternoon's Bostik League match. A warm welcome to today's match officials and the players, officials and supporters of Harlow Town. Also to our sponsor today PACT.

PACT is a charity for autistic children and provide support not only for the children but also their families.

I hope everyone enjoys their afternoon with us and wish you all a very safe journey home.

Our visitors today have always proved tough opposition and I see it being no different today. The game I am sure will have that extra edge as both sides have a lot to play for.

We have two home games left after todays game and I do hope that you can spread the word amongst your friends and family to come down and watch a live game of football which is so much better than a televised game.

The Angels push for a play off spot was enhanced with a fine three points away to Whitehawk which is always a difficult ground to go to not only to play on but also to get to. It was great to see so many of our supporters there and also for the great vocal support given it really makes a difference.

A reminder that our away game to Worthing on Saturday 20 April has been moved to Good Friday 19 April. Kick off will be 3pm. There will be a coach to the match and there will be a limited number of seats for supporters, full details will be provided a bit later.

On the injury side Tom Beere had to leave the field early after sustaining an injury which is hopefully not one that will take him long to recover from. Unfortunately Tom Parkinson will be out for the remainder of the season but will be at the matches to support the rest of the team.

Today will be the last home match for our first team coach Justin Lutchford whose work commitments will see him go a bit further afield to the middle east. I would like to thank Justin for all he has done for the side and being a major part of the club and Steve's management team, he will be back hopefully for the play offs. I wish him and his family all the best and very much hope that he will continue to support the club from afar and he may be able to spread the word and get some overseas support for the Angels. He will always be welcome whenever it is possible for him to come down to see us. Justin will be having a few drinks in the lounge bar after the game if you would like to join him.

If you get a chance please catch Steve's interview and podcast on KFMTV it provides a great insight to Steve's progression in football from playing into management.

I also recommend looking at the interviews after the games on the club's website as they are very entertaining.

Yet again I will make an appeal for volunteers to help at our various events. We need stewards as well as help with the catering.

You will be pleased to know that the water leak has now been repaired and I must thank Pete Elves, Barry Sale and Ollie Graham who did the work and Chris Dunk who supervised.

The first party of the year took place last weekend and was a success and there are more parties in the pipeline which will provide income in the close season. If you do know of anyone looking for venue to hold an event of any size please ask them to contact the club.

We are very fortunate to have the marquee as an entertainment and party destination. A lot of hard work goes into keeping it in tip top condition please take time to promote it.

Please take care and good luck to all our teams this weekend and please enjoy your afternoon with us

Dave
