match review from the weekend; the old adage “a game of two halves” well I witnessed a first half of two halves..! and then a completely different game in the second half.
The historic slow start was nowhere to be seen, two try’s in 10 mins suggested that we had what it takes, and I believe we do. Then came a laps of concentration and eventually our “slow start” appeared. However I saw glimpses of what we are capable of, with a little self motivation and concerted effort on the pitch there is no reason why this intensity cannot be extended within our games.
Special mentions go to; Barnaby for his maiden voyage with Topsham RFC.
Levi, a forwards try from his own try line..!
Ben Ch, for his wiggly run and try.
Ewan, for playing a full game before hockey.. ?
Archie for persevering with a dodgy finger.
Our back row players who are coming on nicely and show great tenacity.
Not least our finishers for their efforts in resisting the onslaught.
A note for all players; on the pitch there is no such word as can’t you just haven't, yet..!
Things are not going to get easier as we have Honiton this weekend, they rely a lot on dynamic forwards play so heavy tackles required for 60 minutes...
