Topsham win 51;5. - 8 tries to 1

A bright wintery day with occassional hail and a strong easterly wind, ideal conditions for Rugby.
Topsham winning the toss wisely chose the wind advantage for the first half.
A fired up and well organised team started with a slight stutter from a miskick straight into Kingsbridges hands, leading to a good opportunist break away try from the visitors, first blood to bridge.
Back to the start for Tops who set about putting our game plan into play to dominate the game , using the wind advantage keeping Kingsbridge pinned down in their 22, great forward play, winning line outs, scrums and rucks and mauls, time after time our big hitters, Joe C, Rhys & Cam made ground and through great rucking by the pack they delivered it 2nd or 3rd phase to Will Oxland to free our backs. Tackles by Jack Carden, Rob Deasy, Joe Reseigh,Owen Elliott, Matti Laurenti, Rhys Parks and Will Fox wiped out the Kingsbridge attack, our back row were right on the edge and hit the Kingsbridge ball carriers mercilessly time after time.
Wonderful inter play passing the ball coast to coast, tries in the first half came from; Foxy, Oxland, Tidball & Pym, with Kotso converting 1 & a penalty and Joe Cockram converting one. Half time score: 29;5.
Into the wind we had to deal with long kicks into out 22, great safe hands from Harry Emmett at 15 and both Kotso and Harrison on the wings, catching and making good ground on the counter attack. Another sound solid half from the boys disciplne was good and rugby brains were evident when pressing our advantage. This half had the best passing and attack play from our backs with some excellent passages of play between Owen Tidball, Luca Pym, Josh Drew, Fin Morgan, Harrison W-Horne, Alex Kotsogiannis & Will Oxland, well done lads.
The Line out was good today with clear understanding between lifters, jumpers and the hooker and we even started to contest their line out winning a crucial line out in our 22 when under pressure.
A Great take and go from Ollie Welch gained us good ground from the KO with Owen Elliott in strong support and Matti Laurenti parting the defense with a sything run to score our final try. Trys in second half were from; Rhys Parks, Owen Tidball, Cameron Duncan & Matti Laurenti, with Kotso converting 1. Final Score Tops 51 Kingsbridge 5.
