Jules Team: Q1 (Team X)
Topsham travelled to Saracens with a large squad against a determined well drilled opposition. Topsham were hungry and committed from the outset.
Nate broke through the centres with an impressive run shrugging off a number of tackles before offloading to Jacob to score wide out to open the scoring for the visitors. Finn scored a brace of tries finding space between defenders that was seamless not there. Saracens came back fighting and scored two tries but Nate was rewarded by a well worked try of his own before the final whistle.
Topsham were well organised from the outset and maintained their defensive shape throughout. Our rucking was much improved but our tackling was the difference between the two sides. MoM George ........... was brave and reliable producing a number of try saving tackles. Jo played an excellent game unselfishly linking play in the centres and Edd, Freddie and Enrico made the hard yards and keeping the opposition on the back foot. All in all an impressive performance from all involved.
Jules Team: Q3 (Team X)
The weather turned just before the third quarter and temperatures dropped significantly. The home team upped their game and the crowd were entertained by 15 minutes of superb rugby from both sides. MoM Freddie, grew in confidence as the game progressed, picking up the ball just inside the opposition half he ran in a excellent try with a committed drive from 20m out. Saracens equalised but it was all smiles at the final whistle as it was clear that both teams had competed well in game of the highest quality.
Sam Mortimer was worthy of special mention playing some of his best rugby of the season with a number of strong carries. Harlan, William, Oscar and Felix all played their part in an enjoyable morning of rugby in difficult conditions.
