Kingsbridge: 0 Topsham: 2
Kingsbridge 1. Topsham 8 (Game 1)
Topsham travelled to Kingsbridge in what was to be a tour de force for the visitors. Any sign of ring rust from last weeks game was absent as the away team started the first half all guns blazing. Nate opened the scoring with a trademark score within the opening minutes. The Captain Ioan lit up the park creating and finishing Topsham's second. Joe RL ran some clever angles and killed the game off as a contest with a brace of well worked tries before half time.
The second half started much as the first, with William Reuben going over in the corner for a spectacular try. Credit to Kingsbridge they never gave up and were rewarded by a conciliation try. Nate, Ioan and William Reuben kept the scoreboard ticking over to finish this one sided affair in spectacular fashion.
This was an excellent team performance from all concerned. A solid defence underpinned this win with excellent close support by all players, a delight to watch.
Kingsbridge 1. Topsham 8 (Game 2)
Confidence was understandably high for the second game. William Nuttall opened the scoring with a break down the left wing closely followed by Jayden linking up well and finishing an excellent try. Kingsbridge replied with a score of their own but William Reuben, Nate and Captain Jo RL were all to score before half time.
Some excellent support play from Luke saw him cross the white wash in the second half and Ioan scored his third try of the day.
Man of the Match Jacob Price took the ball to the line repeatedly giving us some much needed momentum throughout the game. He was rewarded by an excellent try to close out the game.
William B, Felix and George all defended and supported play tirelessly and were unlucky not to get on the score sheet themselves. This was another excellent team performance where players passed the ball around to breakdown a well organised and well drilled team. A massive well done to everybody. Bring on Ivybridge next weekend.
Kingsbridge: 1 Topsham: 1
Another Sunday and a trip away to Kingsbridge, A good strong game from both teams, We took an early lead which we sadly let slip in the second half , we are still losing to much breakdown ball, The ref did seem to ping some of our work in the rucks which made us stop contesting them, sometimes you need to play the ref and keep them happy.
Good strong tackling all round and in attack we made up for our shortcoming.
One draw and one win.
Frankie Forde, who played out of his boots in both games, very determined running in attack , the most determined I have ever seen from you Frankie, well done and keep it up.
Great solid all round performance from you Ed, really pushing yourself in all departments.
