Totteridge's new sunday XI played its first ever match away to Ley Hill in a picturesque setting. The side consisted mainly of players who joined Totteridge from Southlands CC to form the core of a new Sunday side, Jack Mendel borrowed from Belmont and young Australian all rounder Flynn McGraw (more about him later).
Totteridge bowled first in this 35 over encounter. Ley Hill scored 212 for 4. McGraw bowled his left arm seam taking 2 for 20. Mendel drew an edge from one of the openers which was taken brilliantly by Bob Luder at gully. The other wicket to fall from the bowling of Simon Durban was a one handed grab by Shmulie Weinbaum.
Despite scoring at a decent rate Totteridge lost a number of early wickets bringing McGraw to the crease. McGraw's hitting combined with a quick 32 from Jon Mymin saw Totteridge win in the final over. McGraw ended up unbeaten on 99.
It was a game played in a great spirit.
