At the suggestion of Chairman Keith the Sunday XI decided to utilise the ground and the Bank Holiday and play an extra fixture. A young side of former Mill Hill School boys was the opposition.
TMCC batted first and made a positive start with Nauman at the top of the innings scoring a brisk 29. After an upper order collapse there middle lower order produced (Bobbie 26, JK 31, and Rafi Saville 27) so that TMCC ended their 35 over innings on 183 for 8.
Under normal circumstances this would have been enough but number 3 batsman Ollie came in and played a remarkable innings which meant that despite taking regular wickets we were unable to win the game. Somewhat mirroring the efforts of Australia we took 9 wickets but Ollie farmed the strike and got them home.
Particular mention to Ronak Shah who executed a superb run out with a direct throw from mid wicket.
Whilst the result went against us many agreed it was the most exciting game of the season so far to date.
