The Sunday's played away to Hertford in their penultimate game of the season. Having lost the toss TMCC were asked to bowl in a timed game. Hertford batted slowly and only gained impetus when their experienced captain came on and started pushing things along. He declared their innings with 9 wickets down and only 175 on the board. In the field their were some notable moments. Nauman playing in his final ,match of the season took 3 wickets for 46 in 12 overs. Raffi Grant clean bowled a dangerous batsman with a slower ball bouncer, Bobbie Dubie executed a run out with a nice direct hit and Clive took a sharp edge off the spin bowling of Jon Mymin. Others who bowled well included Smit and Eklavya.
After an excellent tea TMCC went about the chase but kept losing wickets. Bob Luder and Bobbie were both clean bowled by excellent young colts. Josh and Tom were dismissed caught behind playing similar cut shots. Nauman was caught at point by a fabulous catch. Jon was dismissed by a wily spinner.
All this put Eklavya and Niren together. Clive being a cup half empty type thought we would do well to hold on to the draw. The batsmen had other ideas and put on a fabulous partnership to see us home with overs to spare. Eklavya, watched by his dad scored 73* and Niren 32*.
It was definitely one of the best games of there season and was good to see a drink being shared in the bar afterwards.
