Kallum Pagano5 May 2024 - 13:30

3rd Team match report

Winning the toss and bowling first with only 9 players starting the match was risky but looked to have paid when off spinner Jayesh took 2 wickets in his opening over. Including a stumping from Ryan. Bugbrooke scored a quick 35 runs before Debutants Harvey and Charlie (aged 14) came on with some clever seam bowling to take 3 important wickets. Young Carter (aged 12) gave us an impressive spell with some accurate bowling, nearly clinching his first senior wicket but unfortunately the catch was put down in the field. On came Kallum Pagano to take 3 wickets with Jacob also taking a wicket in his spell. Bugbrooke finished their 40 overs with 123-9.
Charlie and Jamie opened the batting, Jamie (aged 14) played an impressive cover drive for 4 before unluckily getting bowled by a low bouncing ball (5). Charlie continued to play some good attacking shots with Harvey making a good start with some confident shots before edging one behind (2). Joseph (aged 12) was next but unfortunately was caught and bowled on his 3rd ball (0). In came the Captain who was feeling confident we could start scoring quickly with Charlie being the agressor, sadly Charlie hit one straight into the air and was caught (18) Kallum pagano came in, before The Captain was bowled by what looked to be a prime Jimmy Anderson to end his brief innings (3) Carter came in next, kallum and Carter briefly steadied the ship holding their own very well and picking up some useful runs. Kallum was then dismissed LBW (6). Ryan came in and played some explosive shots to get the run rate back up before Carter was bowled brining his impressive innings to an end (9). In came Jacob (aged 13) who held his end with some good stroke play while Ryan continued to play his shots including 2 big sixes before getting out LBW (30). Dom was next but unfortunately was out LBW 1st ball (0). Jayesh came out hitting a nice shot for 4 before getting out LBW also. Jacob finished his innings 7* and Towcestrians finished their innings 92 all out in 24.3 overs.

Debutants: Harvey, Charlie, Joseph and Carter
