Tows Colts Scrum Down With New Sponsor Shirts

The team went along to the store on Old Tiffield Road to meet store colleagues and store manager Colin McMahon who presented them with their new kit.


Colts players at the Towcestrians Rugby Club are hoping to get off to a winning start with their brand new rugby kit, sponsored by the Tesco store in Towcester.

The team went along to the store on Old Tiffield Road to meet store colleagues and store manager Colin McMahon who presented them with their new kit.

Colin McMahon, store manager, said: "Here at the store we are really pleased we were able to show our support for our local rugby team. We will be keeping our eye on them through the new season and wish them the best of luck!”

The club has a thriving Mini and Junior section catering for young players from the ages of 6 up to 17, encouraging people of all ages and gender to take part.

Towcestrians has three senior teams, the 1st XV currently play in National League 3 Midlands and 75% of the current squad are ex Colts. The Colts currently play in East Midlands U18 Colts League 2.

Phil Thomas, head coach of the Colts rugby team, said: “The boys are thrilled and are very excited to pull on their new shirts. On behalf of the club and the lads I’d like to say a big thank you to Tesco for their support. Let’s hope for a winning season!”
