Second league game outing for a full Tows squad –
The Roses will be on the pitch again this Sunday for the second game of the year against HQ Harlequins. Morale is high as the ladies prepare for their first home game of the season, with a full squad running out at the Towcester Club.
We have yet more new players to the squad, with Deborah Mcnamara making her rugby debut, and Heidi Aris also making an appearance. Sammie Smith is also running out as a Rose for the local home game!
Having suffered a few injuries in the last game the Towcester Roses are looking to make a huge impact on the pitch this weekend. With Gemma Smith (Sponsored by Richard Causebrook) out in the backs hoping to make some big ball carries and some hard tackles. Laura (Phil) Vickery will be back out in the Tows shirt after her successful run out as captain last week and Liv Burnett, last week’s player of the match, will be back in the 10 shirt for Sunday’s game.
A key player last season, Grace Tillen, will be back in the pack ready to make some meters and carry the ball hard like we know she can! Forward of the match last weekend, Emma Russell will also be appearing in the forwards again this Sunday, and we can’t wait to see some of those tackles at our home ground.
This Sunday will be a very hard-fought match, with both teams looking for their first win of the season. But the Roses cannot wait to get out there and play some good old rugby in front of the Towcester fans!
